Mom in 32 Languages – Sterling Silver Mobius Strip Bangle Bracelet
- Reviews (0)
Engraved on this designer bracelet within and without are the words for mother, mom or ma in thirty two different languages. The word for mother is similar around the world in totally unrelated languages. Many believe this is because the vowels and consonant sounds that make up the word for mother are the first to be mastered by children and so the sound of the word to identify a mother is almost universal. An homage to motherhood, perfect for Mother’s Day, birthday, or simply a gift to celebrate her – whether she is the mother of your children, your grandchildren, or a dear friend.
The geometric form known as the Mobius strip is named for German mathematician August Ferdinand Mobius [1790-1868]. It represents the seeming paradox of a plane without end, or one of infinite length. It’s thus accepted as a symbol of infinity, which is an appropriate form upon which to place the profound words of this special bracelet.
Size: The inside diameter fits a wrist measuring 8 in. or smaller, though if your hand is a little bigger, this bracelet adjusts slightly. The bracelet is an elliptical shape approximately 2-13/16 in. x 2.5 in. (72mm x 64mm). The width varies from 3/16 in. to 5/16 in. (about 5mm to 8mm).
Lettering: Please note that the antiquing (the darkening of the lettering and/or designs) on posy jewelry is hand-applied and thus varies from piece to piece as evidence of the hand-crafted nature of this work of art. We can’t guarantee the level of darkness or lightness achieved in your lettering. Thanks for your understanding!
