A bold, trillion-cut gemstone mounted shown in platinum and 14K rose gold engagement puzzle ring is exquisite! The gemstone size shown is approximately 1 CT.

It is difficult to find a genuine trillion- (also known as trilliant or triangle) cut alexandrite with a blue/purple to teal/green color change. But the lab-created alexandrite in this ring appears purple under incandescent or photographic lighting, and then it appears as a teal blue or green color in daylight. Very costly genuine alexandrites may have different colors, and some of the lower-quality ones change from red to green rather than purple/green.

A working puzzle ring, styled after legendary Celtic knotwork rings, this ring comes apart and goes back together easily with the video, animated, and written instructions we provide under a tab on this page. Your puzzle ring will be hand-woven, in contrast to the majority of puzzle rings which are cast from molds. Our brilliant puzzle ring artist will hand-weave your engagement ring precisely for the stone that you select, its very shape and size, so your puzzle ring will be a true, one-off original.

Gemstone size: The lab-created alexandrite on this just-over-medium-weight puzzle ring is roughly 1 CT; the specific size is 6mm x 6mm and 0.93 CT. It is available in a 7mm x 7mm gemstone on a slightly heavier puzzle ring, but we don’t have a picture of this yet.

You may select this ring with two bands of platinum, as shown, instead of white gold. Or you may choose all platinum. Platinum is denser than gold and therefore heavier, and it stays whiter longer without polishing. Platinum is the most durable metal over the long term.  Over the years, platinum has been the most long-wearing, and if you order half platinum, we will set your ring up so platinum is the outer metal for most of the circumference of the ring, thus protecting the rose gold.

Ring size: Select from whole, half, and quarter sizes 3 – 10.5. Other sizes are available upon request.

Puzzle ring weave: This ring is shown with an open weave. You may select a tight or standard weave, instead. If you wish to pair the ring with a single shadow band, we recommend choosing an open weave. Standard or tight weave rings are better for dual shadow band ring guards or eternity bands, which are rings with a uniform width all the way around.
